We had a fun-filled fall here at SpinSys as the designated Culture Squad planned the best events! Take a look at our exciting happenings in and out of the office!

Maryland Renaissance Festival
Reported by – Tatiana Bolat
Our crew had a blast going back in time to the 16th century. The Maryland Renaissance Festival utilizes a storyline that revolves around Henry VIII. When we arrived, there were so many attractions to pick from! There were unique costumes, many stages for performances, merchant stores, and a lot of cool art! Everywhere we looked, there was always something out of the ordinary happening. Our favorite part was hanging out at the jousting arena and eating the turkey legs!

Old City Jail Tour
Reported by – Kourtney McIntire and Jordan Nolte
What better way to spend a spooky October evening than to explore a haunted jail! The Old City Jail operated from 1802 until 1939 housing 19th century pirates, Civil War prisoners, and even some of Charleston’s worst criminals. While some of our employees were brave enough to enter, some wouldn’t dare! Upon entering the castle-like structure, we felt the chills go down our spines as the walls had many eerie stories to tell. SpinSys loved learning more about the history of Charleston while enduring the tour!

Thanksgiving Cook Off
Reported by – Tatiana Bolat
SpinSys is all about the potlucks, and our office is filled with some very talented chefs. There were many dishes to choose from, and we even had three different types of mac & cheese! We were extremely grateful to have this “works giving” and look forward to the next!

Thanksgiving Potluck
Reported by – Jordan Nolte
Gobble til you wobble! The SpinSys employees had a wonderful time and turned into stuffed turkeys after our Thanksgiving Potluck. We sat around the table, stated what we were thankful for, and stuffed our bellies with delicious food. As we described what we were thankful for, many employees mentioned the SpinSys Family, as well as their family outside of work. We are so grateful to be a company that supports one another and we can’t wait for next year’s Thanksgiving Potluck!

Secret Santa/Bake-Off
Reported by – Tatiana Bolat
The bake off consisted of many yummy treats that put us in a food coma right away. Our winning dessert was maneesh, and it was hand made by our very own CFO, Chakib Jaber. To fight off the food coma, we started playing white elephant. It was super entertaining, and it brought out many of our employee’s personalities and sense of humor. Everyone was on a mission to steal each other’s gifts. The gift that was the most popular ended up being the travel size hammock.

Secret Santa/Bake-Off
Reported by – Jordan Nolte
The ultimate way to get into the holiday spirit is, of course, with cookies and presents! The Charleston office decided to end the year with a bake-off and Secret Santa. We brought in a variety of cookies, watched Christmas movies in the kitchen, and exchanged gifts. We tried so many different goodies, but the chocolate raspberry cake truffles won the bake-off! The SpinSys team enjoyed each other’s company and we all loved our gifts! We can’t wait to continue the traditions for the holidays in the coming years!
