Spin Systems Director of Healthcare Innovation, Lou Ferrucci, will be a panelist for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Series “Introduction to Healthcare Solutions on AWS†on November 11, 2022. Lou will showcase SpinSys’ cloud migration approach and success story on our award-winning Accelerated Migration Project (AMP). AMP was completed on an aggressive 16-week timeline to rehost a defense health data center to AWS GovCloud, securing multiple Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations and providing immediate benefits and the foundation for long-term customer success.
SpinSys orchestrated a Team of Teams for the successful migration of more than 250 on-premises servers, 60+ applications, and approximately 300 TB of data in 750+ databases via AWS Snowballs and the Multiplatform Data Acquisition, Collection, and Analytics (MDACA) big data solution. In addition to infrastructure rehosting, AMP transitioned the Government customer from a Capital Expense (CapEx) funding model to Operational Expense (OpEx) model. It also introduced enterprise offerings for virtual desktop interface, active directory, and Help Desk. AMP further refined business processes, Role Based Access Control (RBAC) alignment, and data management strategy for defense health’s largest data repository.
The 3-week training series open to all AWS Partners who work with Public Sector customers – is designed to help AWS Partners learn how Public Sector customers can use AWS to solve the biggest challenges in the healthcare industry. Topics include key Public Sector customer areas of interest including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Security, Data Management, Continuity of Operations, and Return on Investment (ROI) / Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
